You've loved observing motocross from afar-even when you're not participating in the sport directly, watching competitions still gives you a rush of adrenaline and excitement you can't find anywhere else.
But something has always kept you back from jumping in and participating yourself. Maybe you don't know where to start. Maybe you're still a little bit afraid of getting on a bike and competing. Or maybe some aspects of beginning a new sport overwhelm you, including collecting the right gear and investing in the right bike.
Whether you just bought your first motorcycle or you’ve been an avid rider for years, one thing remains undoubtedly true: your craving for wind-in-your-face adventure. Motorcycles deserve to be ridden, but not just down the street or around the neighborhood. They deserve to be taken on extensive road trips so you can enjoy long stretches of winding road and beautiful scenery.
After a couple months of waiting for the snow to melt and for the weather to finally cooperate. It's almost racing season and you need to get ready. Not only do you have to make sure that your motorcycle is ready, but you will need to make sure that you, the rider, are as well. A great way to start is to make yourself a check sheet or shopping list of things that need to be inspected or purchased before that first race. The best place to start is with your gear bag. Hopefully, you did wash all your motocross gear after your last race.
For those of us that are not lucky enough to be able to ride all year-long, there will be some necessary maintenance and safety checks that you will need to perform before you hit the road. Early Spring preparations will lead to months of good riding and avoiding costly repair bills later. And as always, safety is of the utmost importance and by performing a few easy pre-ride inspections and maintenance you can help guarantee a fun safe ride.
